About this event

ASA-105 Coastal Navigation - Challenge or Self-Study

This is the Exam for Self-study or Challenge
Self Study -- Student studies on their own, over 4-6 weeks, asks questions of the instructor when clarification is needed via email/phone call. An in-classroom session for the final exam scheduled either with above classes or mutually agreed with myself. (Essentially a "challenge-lite").

Expectation of the student -- previous navigation qualification such as Private Pilot, military Aviator, or Naval experience who wants to validate their skills and get a certification.

Challenge -- Just that.  The student studies on their own, no assistance from the Instructor.

After you register, please coordinate with Tim Holland getting your Pyzel book/CD and Chart 1210Tr.  For COVID reasons, these will be available at the Clubhouse for pickup.  You must have these and should use them for preparation of the exam.

You will need to provide your own tools. The Weems & Plath set are very good and should last years. Available at West Marine, or Amazon, or direct from W&P. Shop around because the price varies.

Contact Tim Holland (instructor) for any questions.
